Eagilik Public Fund was founded in 2004 by Martha Peake to enrich the community of Astana through literature, cultural exchange and English language learning. Eagilik, which means good works in Kazakh, started in a simple two-room flat with just a small library of donated books from America. Within the next few years, as students and books multiplied, the Fund would move to larger locations. In 2009 the Fund opened its current location on Kenesary Street.

Eagilik is an oasis in the heart of Astana, where the quality and enjoyment of people's lives are enhanced and the community is enriched; where people draw on resources valuable to their continuous and sustainable growth. Eagilik Public Fund provides a unique setting through its library and courses where people access and enjoy media and learn and practice English. Eagilik – Books & Coffee LLC provides high quality products and service in a warm, inviting environment. People come to enjoy good books and connect with friends over coffee, tea and home-made baked goods.
